The Gayway (later changed to “Fun Forest”) was the Fair’s midway, with rides and amusements. The song also delves into Show Street, the “adult” section of the Fair, which was near the Gayway. Show Street included attractions such as “A Night in Paradise,” Gracie Hansen’s Vegas-style showgirl revue, and “Les Pupees de Paris,” an adults-only puppet show produced by Sid & Marty Krofft (future masterminds of “H.R. Pufnstuf”).
I bought the 12 inch single for Bela Lugosi’s Dead at Fred’s records in St. John’s, Newfoundland in the eighties and it remained a treasured item in my collection until it was lost, left behind, stolen, loaned out, whatever. I accepted that that item was lost to time and likely irreplaceable. Hence my utter shock to see that I will once again hear this evocative masterwork on vinyl along with an extra three tracks. I recall Boys was included on the B-side of that long list single. Thank you! skritti
Yet another gem from The Green Pajamas. Excellent song progression keeps me listening right to the end. True to the bands Psych roots with edgy guitar and instrumental hi-jinks, the lyrics transport me to past memories and travels, real and imagined. There is a story book quality to each album and Sunlight Might Weigh Even More delivers again. James DayWalker
